I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember.
It was always a hobby that started as a kid, then as a young adult, doing murals, then I spent over two decades as a full-time tattoo artist—eventually specializing in large-scale Japanese work. I loved the meaning embedded in the Japanese Tattoo which contained a lot of symbols of Transformation. I was devoted to learning the style as much as I was learning to perfect my craft. But something I realized much later on, that what I truly enjoyed about tattooing was less about the creation of the tattoo and more about the clients I worked with. That realization took me years to figure out but thats when things shifted.
Tattooing is a visual transformation, but so many of my clients we also going through internal transformations too.
In 2020, physical pain led me to my own transformation….but as life has a way of revealing itself to you through the process—eventually I realized, what I thought was limitation, was actually more like an initiation. Through deep inner work and eventually ThetaHealing®, everything started to shift—my identity, my relationships, the way I created. Nothing remained untouched.
I started to see what I was doing working with others, the art itself was just the gateway to the deeper work that hid beneath it for those who engaged with me in that way. It was unconscious for myself and my clients for the majority of my career until this major shift in my own consciousness.
After opening my own studio in 2021 and exploring energy work more intentionally, it became clear that my body and soul were asking for something different—more freedom, more alignment, and being in the truth of who I am even if I had no idea what that really looked like at the time. It was one of the boldest moves I have ever made, to walk away from something I spent decades building—but I knew it would someday make sense.
December 2024, after 25 years in the industry, I closed my shop, and quit tattooing. Then a few months later, May 2025, I packed what fit in my car and stepped into the unknown with my little dog, Leroy.
Thats when the “real work” started—This became another initiation, one that centered around my own physical healing, remembering, and reclaiming my Truth…what started as a simple “Who am I without tattooing” became a deeper existential question of who am I really, what do I believe, what is actually mine—changing beliefs, patterns and deep programming.
Then, how do I engage with the world?
I’ve learned change is my ally and my work will continue to evolve as I am. What once moved through tattooing still moves through me in the same way but different mediums.. My art itself is shifting roles from product to becoming more experiential based.
I do know, navigating the depths of the subconscious that brings about transformation that is embodied—the kind that rewrites the inner landscape— is where I thrive. I’m learning to be an artist of life and excited to see where this all leads to. Also to anchor more deeply into presence, PLAY, curiosity…to navigate this whole life thing with ease and grace…enjoying the journey.
